“Claire Daly is a first-rate musician and educator who brings her soulfulness and thoughtfulness to all that she does. Super insightful, open, warm; she’s the kind of guest artist who leaves something behind for everyone to think about and work on. It was a great pleasure and honor having her at MIT” – Fred Harris, Director, MIT Festival Jazz Ensemble
“…a veteran artist who has been instrumental in inspiring young women to become part of, and contribute to the future of our jazz community.” – Felipe Salles, UMass, Amherst
” The Jazz Education Network was thrilled to have the talented Claire Daly serve as the director of the inaugural 2019 sisters in jazz collegiate honors combo in Reno. The outstanding combo played to a standing ovation and we credit that to the talented young women and Claire’s fine leader ship. She’s an outstanding musician and a strong supporter of jazz education representing women in jazz from around the globe.” Mary Jo Papich
” We have had the privilege of having Claire on our faculty at Litchfield Jazz Camp for over two decades. In a teaching staff of stellar artists all these years, she has been a standout -committed, exciting, motivating, compassionate. Everything you could want in a teacher and more. As an example of what a player should be, you could not ask for more.” – Vita Muir, Director and Creator of the Litchfield Jazz Camp and Festival
“Claire Daly is a one-of-a-kind teacher combining vast knowledge of saxophone fundamentals with a gift for meeting students exactly where they are. She brings out the big sound in her students and makes them feel confident in knowing “I can do this”. Claire holds a unique vision for storytelling as a jazz artist.
I had the good fortune to record several of her CDs with her and am always intrigued by the depth of her baritone saxophone sound as well as the concepts she chooses to focus each project.” – Eli Yamin, Jazz artist, Artistic Director and Co-founder of Jazz Power Initiative and co-creator of the Middle School Jazz Academy at JALC.
